The experience of motorbike road trip to Y Ty – the foggy land with gorgeous terraced fields and charming beauty – was an amazing journey and I loved every minute of it. I hope this post inspires you to pack your backpack and go.

Our group of 9 peoples, travelled to Lao Cai station from Hanoi by train. Then, we hired 5 motorbikes to travel to Y Ty with 250,000VND/motorbike/day. Our travelling schedule was: Lao Cai – Bat Xat (11km) – Trinh Tuong (26km) – Lung Lo (19km) – A Mu (7km) – A Lu (7km)- Ngai Thau (7km)- Y Ty (7km). Some remarkable stops include: km 92 stop (in which Red River starts flowing into Vietnam), beautiful path between A Lu and Y Ty which is stunningly attractive in harvest seasons and Thien Sinh Bridge (which connects with China).

We were totally exhausted after driving the 80km along mountainous roads, we reached this foggy land. However, the feeling of bobbing on clouds to see the grandiose landscape of this foggy land is really worth for our efforts. White clouds covered all the roads, villages and mountains and stretched until the horizon. It made me feel like getting lost in a wonderland. Here are pictures that we have taken along the way.

Although I did not ride the motorbike on myself, the feeling of successfully conquering the difficult roads in the region will be unforgettable experience for the rest of my life. I will definitely take more and more trips like this in the near future.
