In March 2020, international flights to Vietnam were temporarily suspended due to the negative impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. After nearly 2 years of being affected by the epidemic, Hoi An – one of the most attractive destinations in Vietnam will welcome the first wave of foreign visitors.

Along with Khanh Hoa, Phu Quoc, and Quang Ninh, Hoi An is one of the first locations in Vietnam to welcome international guests via charter flights.
Hoi An is a 5-century city in Quang Nam and tops the list of the world’s best cities for Tourism + Leisure in 2019. Hoi An is famous for its well-preserved ancient architecture, peaceful streets lined with glowing lanterns, picturesque countryside, and vibrant food scene. Hoi An is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Vietnam.
200 US tourists will visit Hoi An on November 17, 2021
On November 17, 200 fully vaccinated American tourists on a charter flight will land in the ancient city of Hoi An with no quarantine mandated.
Tourists will stay at Hoiana in Duy Xuyen ward and visit tourist attractions such as Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son holy land, Vin Wonders Nam Hoi An and Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An with strict supervision by local authorities. During the seven days of the program, these travelers cannot leave these hotels or designated attractions without notifying their tour operator. All staff serving tourists visiting the area under the sandbox program have also been fully vaccinated.
When the program ends, some tourists will return to the US, and some people can convert visa vào thăm Việt Nam relatives.

In the year 2020, Vietnam witnessed a significant decrease in the number of foreign travelers. However, currently, only 30% of Vietnam’s population is fully vaccinated, so vaccine coverage is not yet safe and cross-provincial travel is not encouraged.
It may take more time for all tourist attractions in Vietnam to reopen, welcoming the first international visitors to Hoi An is a welcome sign for Vietnam’s tourism industry.
